Garland Symphony Orchestra Features Leslie Massenburg

Concert V of the Garland Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony Goes Wild! season features Hummel’s Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra as performed by the GSO’s own Principal Bassoon, Leslie Massenburg. This performance will take place at the Granville Arts Center (300 N. Fifth Street, downtown Garland) on Friday, February 17 at 8 p.m.

With a Master’s Degree in Bassoon Performance from Southern Methodist University, Leslie Massenburg is a frequent substitute with Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Summer Musicals and the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida. She is the Principal Bassoon for the Los Colinas, Garland and Arlington Symphonies, and has a private teaching studio in Dallas.

Concert V also features Guest Conductor, Jan Zarzycki, of Poland. Mr. Zarzycki is Managing and Artistic Director of the Witold Lutoslawski Chamber in Lomza. He is also a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, as well as a prize winner of international competitions in Italy, Spain and Hungary.
