Treasure of the Hills Senior Center Sets Senior Expo for October 5

The Treasure of the Hills Senior Center of Cedar Park (TOTH) will hold its 18th Annual Senior Expo on Saturday, October 5th at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA gymnasium, 204 East Little Elm, Cedar Park. Approximately 50 vendors are participating in the Expo and the booths will be open to the public free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“We have many new vendors, and we think this will be the best Expo yet,” says Ellen Fannin, President of the Senior Center Board and Expo Coordinator.

In 2007, TOTH held its first event to bring together area seniors, their families, and organizations that could offer them useful services. “We are so pleased to be able to do it again,” says Fannin. “And we truly appreciate the local businesses who are supporting it so generously.”

So far, the Expo has nine sponsors providing extra support for the event. The YMCA has been named a Gold Sponsor for providing the venue and publicity. Silver sponsors are Seniorific News and Oasis Senior Advisors. Bronze sponsors are Allyson Carter, Realtor; The Cochrun Group; Devoted Health Plans; Mobility City; and Town Square.

TOTH is a volunteer-operated non-profit organization, providing a place where local seniors can meet and enjoy recreational, educational, social and physical activities. Members currently play a wide variety of card and domino games and bingo.  They participate in crafts such as quilting and jewelry-making. TOTH sponsors exercise classes, a golfing group and a book club, and the Center has teamed up with the Cedar Park Parks & Recreation Department to stage various events. The Center recently began scheduling monthly Music Bingo event, and will be hosting another puzzle-solving contest in December. Other activities include shared meals, holiday celebrations, day trips and educational programs.

TOTH is located at 408 Ridgewood Drive, Cedar Park, TX. The phone number is 512-331-6000. The website is www.toth-seniors.com.
